ABSTRACT

The last recommendations for pediatric advanced life support which has been published in 2015 can be summarized as fluid resuscitation for septic shock, atropine for premedication during emergency intubation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring during resuscitation, amiodarone and lidocaine for shock-refractory ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia, vasopressors during arrest, extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation for in-hospital pediatric arrest, post-arrest temperature management, post-arrest blood pressure management, and intra- and post-arrest prognostic factors for arrest. The recent recommendations for pediatric advanced life support in the last guideline which is published by the American Heart Association have been reviewed under the aforementioned titles.
